About Taiyuan

Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, is a historic cultural city with over 2,500 years of history. Known anciently as "Jinyang" and nicknamed "Dragon City," it is nestled in the Fen River valley of the Loess Plateau. It is not only a crucial energy base for China but also a living history book, carrying the glorious memories of Chinese civilization.

Taiyuan experiences a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. Its summers are pleasantly cool, earning it the moniker "Cool Summer Capital," while winters are cold and dry. The average annual temperature is around 10掳C (50掳F), with annual precipitation of 400-500mm, concentrated mainly in summer. Spring and autumn are brief and comfortable, ideal for exploring the ancient city.

Located at the confluence of agrarian and nomadic civilizations, Shanxi has long been a melting pot of ethnic integration. This characteristic is also reflected in its religious art. Shanxi boasts multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites, representing outstanding contributions to world culture.

Cross-cultural Faculty Team

VIA has an international faculty and leadership team composed of both Chinese and foreign educators. Our Chinese administrators bring extensive experience in China's basic education system, while our international leaders come from various countries and are well-versed in global educational trends.

In terms of teaching staff, we attract a diverse team of foreign teachers from different cultural backgrounds, ensuring that students learn in a multicultural environment where they can experience the uniqueness and traditions of various cultures.

This multicultural management and faculty structure not only reinforces VIA's cross-cultural strengths in communication and local educational governance but also injects global perspectives into our curriculum, teaching, student development, and campus culture.
